Bathurst is found approximately 3 hours drive west from Sydney, along the Great Western Highway. Mount Panorama is on the south/west outskirts of Bathurst.

Interesting Fact: Bathurst was originally constructed in the year 1938 as a scenic tourist drive. This track has held a number of very well known events. On non racing weekends the mountain is used as a public farming area.

The race is held over a four day period, 7th - 10th of October. 
 The major sponsor for the v8 supercars Bathurst races are super cheap auto they had even named the race Super Cheap Auto Bathurst 1000.  
 Since the first race on Mt Panorama, 49 races have taken place under the combined history of two events at two venues in two states. Since the year 2000, the race has been run exclusively for V8 Supercars and is included as a round for the V8 Supercar Championship Series.


 The race winners receive the Peter Brock Trophy which was introduced at the 2006 race in honour of the nine-time Bathurst winner Peter Brock, the most successful driver in the history of V8 Supercar racing
